Professional Acting Experience
Theatre
In February/March 2006 the new up and coming young actress Holly Jones enjoyed taking on the role of another up and coming young actress when she played the part of Lesley in Alan Bennett’s ‘Talking Heads’.
It was Holly’s professional acting debut with The Abingdon Touring Theatre Company directed by Simon Coates. Holly loved performing the part of Lesley, an up and coming young actress, discussing the experiences of her acting career, both in film and theatre, and also talking about the many ‘influential’ directors she has worked with. The piece is both humorous and thought-provoking and proved an exciting acting challenge and an invaluable experience for Holly as a new up and coming young actress.
The production toured to theatres and various performance venues around Oxfordshire and Holly would certainly love to tour more in the future. It is truly poignant that Holly’s professional theatre debut should be that of the aspiring up and coming young actress that Holly, herself, is determined to become.

Holly played the role of Joyce in The Hop Garden written and directed by John Bashford performed at the Ludlow Festival. June 2009
In the Summer of 2007, Holly took on her debut role with the Oxford Theatre Guild performing the feisty young heroine, Lydia Languish, in an outdoor production of The Rivals. The play follows Lydia’s romantic escapades and after much laughter, confusion and mistaken identity, all ends happily. Holly loved the wit and humour of Sheridan’s language and thoroughly enjoyed bringing the role of Lydia to life. The production took place in the beautiful and atmospheric gardens of Trinity College, Oxford and provided Holly with valuable experience in coping with the many demands of performing outdoors but Holly relished the opportunity of spending the Summer performing in such idyllic surroundings. |
